Thanks a lot for the bug report. That commit that you pointed is fine though.
I figured out what happened when you did your initial post: https://ask.cloudbase.it/question/2896/ovs-extension-not-running/ and did a few changes that I have been testing since Friday.
I committed the changes about an hour ago. A new beta installer should be up now that should fix the issues you are encountering.
Please uninstall, remove the all the OVS driver information as per: https://ask.cloudbase.it/question/2896/ovs-extension-not-running/ answer, and install using the installer which should have the timestamp of today:
Jan 6 14:45 openvswitch-hyperv-installer-beta.msi
Please let me know if that fixes the issues you encountered.
