Windows Cloud Image failed to boot

I have uploaded Windows Cloud Image of Windows Server 2012 Eval to OpenStack following the steps as mentioned in https://cloudbase.it/openstack-window....

But when I boot an instance with the image, "No physical memory is available at the location required for the Windows Boot Manager. The system can not continue."

I am not sure if I have done anything wrong. Appreciate if anyone can help thanks!

Hello,

can you give more details on the OpenStack version and hypervisor type that you are trying to use?

Thank you.

First of all, make sure you set in your nova compute node nova.conf file: [DEFAULT] virt_type = kvm Windows needs hardware acceleration to be enabled, in order to work.

I have checked the nova.conf and virt_type is already set as mentioned. Is there any other requirements in order for the Windows Cloud Image to work? Thanks

If possible, can you put in a pastebin the kvm process command associated with the windows vm? You can obtain it by running "ps ax|grep kvm".

I have run the command and result as show in below http://gofile.me/1UvHi/k4G8qqyI

from the logs I can see that the allocated memory for the VM is 4MB. A Windows machine needs at least 512MB. I would strongly suggest to allocate more than 2GB of RAM, depending on the workload requirements.

Hi,

I am now using OpenStack (Kilo) with KVM as hypervisor.

Thanks.
