I'm new to this, and installing with Hyper-V, so would appreciate some assistance.

I can see the URL has a double // in it, but unsure as to why the controller can't see the network. Can anyone assist please?

Hi, please answer the following questions: 1. On what Windows version are you doing the deployment? 2. On what stage of the deployment is this happening, when the Openstack VM is installing, after? Did it had net before?

Also, a description of the networking part would be nice, how the vswitches are connected etc. Thank you.

I am doing the deployment on 2012 R2 (fully patched). The Openstack controller is deployed and running, and the extract I've pulled from the installer / VM console. There are 2 nics in the physical machine, both are teamed (within windows) and then an external switch has been created from it

If you go on the Openstack VM, do you have an IP on the 'mgmt-ext' interface? Do you have ping to internet and your default gateway? Also, if you redo the installation, do you still get the same issues? Thanks.

Also, are you behind a proxy?

My installation is failing at basically the same place. I have just started the v-magine installation for a POC on a Server 2012 R2 system, I can see it begin to create the VM within Hyper-v, but then halts about 70-80 seconds in. Any thoughts on what to try?

There may be 2 reasons: 1. you are behind a proxy, in which case proxy config in needed on installer 2. does the network your Windows host is on have a DHCP server? The CentOS VM needs a DHCP IP. Please note that I am NOT talking about the network you specify on the installer.

I am not behind a proxy as this is a simple lab with one network on 192.168.10.0/24. DHCP is enabled, but you seem to indicate a separate network so I'm not sure if I am missing something.

So there are two possible networks. The one that on which the Windows host is, and the one you specify during the install. The one important for us is the first one. Make sure you have an active DHCP on that network.

The one on which the host is, and the network I specified are the one and the same. I only have the one network in this lab - 192.168.10.0/24. Are you saying I somehow need to set up some additional network?

I believe I got it. I started checking network configs and discovered DHCP was only on for .2 - .19 where I had give v-magine .100 - .199 to work. I updated the config and the install is now proceeding. Thanks for the help!
