Hi Team,

We are running Windows machin on KVM hypervisor and found few machines are getting unresponsive -but do not fail - and the only way to get them running is to restart the VM. I checked windows logs and found a lot of Viostor Warning message as below.

Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort01, was issued

Can this cause the VM getting unresponsive. Below is the screenshot for the virtio drivers details.

Device PCI\VEN1AF4&DEV1001&SUBSYS00021AF4&REV00\3&13c0b0c5&0&20 was configured. Driver Name: oem1.inf Class Guid: {4d36e97b-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} Driver Date: 11/19/2014 Driver Version: 62.71.104.9400 Driver Provider: Red Hat, Inc. Driver Section: rhelscsiinst Driver Rank: 0xFF0000 Matching Device Id: PCI\VEN1AF4&DEV1001&SUBSYS00021AF4&REV_00 Outranked Drivers: Device Updated: false

Hello,

In this cases, I think you might want to raise the issue on the VirtIO drivers project:

https://github.com/virtio-win/kvm-gue...

Are you using the latest virtio stable ones?

Thank you,

Thanks adrian, This VM has old virtIO drivers possibly -virtio-win-0.1.102/ and has not been updated since then.

I suggest to try to update the VirtIO drivers and check if the error persists (of course, on a testing non-production virtual machine).
