Cant install Cloudbase-init 0.9.11 in W2012 R2

This is the error: Cannot find the Microsoft VC90 CRT x86 DLL

I install " Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)" and the error continues.

some help?

I can not install on windows server 2012 r2.

version: Cloudbase-init 0.9.11

I refer to the actual cloudbase-init installer download link: It should be something like: https://cloudbase.it/downloads/CloudbaseInitSetup_Stable_x86.msi or https://cloudbase.it/downloads/CloudbaseInitSetup_Stable_x64.msi

I tried to repro your issue and could not on a Windows 2012 R2 Standard. What is the output of the following powershell command on the instance: ls C:\Windows\system32\msv* ?

and to make sure we are using the same installer, can you please share the sha1 of the installer file?

this is the sha1: 2a4ca65b2653c1e5e7f75979dde0ccc5 (cloudbaseinitsetup_0_9_11_x64.msi) I do not understand the powershell command. What is the command? regards

I have downloaded cloudbase-init from the following link: https://cloudbase.it/downloads/CloudbaseInitSetup_0_9_11_x64.msi and the sha1 checksum is: 727AC93FF25011EF3CBD9ADC6CEAD0A1528958FD . Can you retry to download it again and reinstall? thanks.

Hello,

In order to reproduce this issue, can you provide the following information:

does Windows 2012 R2 instance have the latest updates?
link from where you downloaded the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) package
link from where you downloaded the Cloudbase Init installer
