Hi all,

I'm new to Cloudbase-Init, and trying to figure out how to rename a network interface for a Windows 2016. is this possible ? I'm using Cloudbase-Init within VMware vRealize Automation 8.1 (CMP).

Hello,

The renaming is dependent on the metadata type that cloudbase-init uses to apply networking.

Currently, only some metadata types (like OpenStack, MAAS) are implemented to support network interface renaming.

Please open an issue / feature request if the metadata in your case is not supported by cloudbase-init here https://github.com/cloudbase/cloudbas... . Make sure to provide an example of how the metadata looks like and how it can be accessed. If you are using OVF metadata format, the network part in not implemented https://cloudbase-init.readthedocs.io... .

Thank you.
