FreeRDP Web Connect - Mouse cursor
Is there a way to get a mouse cursor in FreeRDP Web Connect? I am using the default configuration, Gateway is installed on Hyper-V 2016 Server. OpenStack Stein. When connecting to the vanilla CloudBase Windows 2012 R2 image (which is honestly the only thing I've tried) I get a desktop, keyboard works, mouse works but has no cursor.
This is the same behavior regardless of if I go through horizon and OpenStack, or if I connect direct to the web connect console via the Hyper-V IP.
I see some references in the code to a mouse helper, I'm assuming there's something here that needs adjusted.
I'm wondering if this has anything with the browser that you're using. Can you try a different one? Which one have you tried?
The behavior is consistent (no mouse cursor) across Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome on Ubuntu 16.04, Mac OS X 10.14, and Windows 10. I also tested the Edge browser on Windows 10 with the same result. The mouse "works" - you just cannot see a cursor through the FreeRDP Webconnect UI.
I gave it a try and the cursor shows up fine. Could you try a more recent version or even the beta? https://cloudbase.it/downloads/FreeRDPWebConnect.msihttps://cloudbase.it/downloads/FreeRDPWebConnect_Beta.msi
Full disclosure: FreeRDP WebConnect is currently provided as a best effort, experimental service. It started as a fork, to which Cloudbase has added Openstack integration, also fixing a few bugs. The original project is more or less abandoned at the moment.
In the future, we may be able to step in and fully support this project. The official Github repo is located here: https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP-WebConnect
